Paste saves every item you copy until you clear it
Most new users treat Paste like a simple list. They copy something, open the app, and expect it to show only the last item. It does not work that way. Paste saves every item you copy until you clear the history. That means if you copy a password and then a screenshot, both stay there. Lock your Mac or quit Paste if you work in a shared space and do not want sensitive items seen.
Another common slip is forgetting to search. People scroll through a long history instead of typing a few words into the smart search field. Search is faster and finds text inside images too.
Some skip the AirDrop and iCloud sync setup. Paste syncs automatically once you turn it on, but you have to enable it in preferences. Without that, your clipboard stays on one machine.
A few users also ignore the plain-text toggle. When you paste formatted text into a plain field, Paste can strip the formatting for you. That button is easy to miss if you do not look for it.
Raised minimum macOS to 14.0 with stability fixes
Version 6.6.2 raised the minimum macOS requirement from 13 to 14.0. If you are still on macOS 13, you stay on an earlier build. The update also includes general stability fixes — nothing flashy, but the app feels more consistent across a workday.
iCloud sync and AirDrop transfer both work the same as before. The interface languages list did not change. Custom keyboard shortcuts remain where you set them.

Paste vs. Ditto
Ditto is a clipboard manager that runs on Windows only. You cannot use it on a Mac at all. Paste handles the full clipboard history plus syncs with iOS devices, which Ditto does not support on any platform.
Paste vs. CopyQ
CopyQ is open source and available for macOS, but it feels like a Linux tool ported over. Its interface relies on tabs and a command line under the hood. Paste is a native macOS app with a cleaner look and direct AirDrop support. CopyQ also lacks iCloud sync — you must set up your own syncing method.
Paste vs. Alfred (Clipboard History)
Alfred includes a clipboard history feature in its paid Powerpack tier. If you already own Alfred, that feature works fine for text snippets. Paste handles images, links, and screenshots in the same history, and it syncs to iPhone and iPad without extra configuration. Alfred does not offer iOS clipboard sync at all.
