DxO PureRAW 6 runs on any Mac with an Apple M1 chip or an Intel processor paired with an AMD Radeon Pro RX5700 GPU, 8 GB of RAM, and macOS 15.7 Sequoia or newer. It works natively on both ARM and x86 architectures.
The minimum install requires 6 GB of free disk space and a 1280 x 768 display. The interface is English only. Starting with version 6, it uses the DxO Wide Gamut working color space and includes AI-powered dust spot removal. You can choose high-fidelity DNG compression when exporting.
For Bayer and X-Trans sensors, the DeepPRIME XD3 engine handles noise reduction and demosaicing. The download provides a disk image with a standard installer — mount it and run through the setup.
Batch Pre-Processor for RAW Noise and Lens Fixes
If you shoot RAW and batch-process a lot of frames, DxO PureRAW 6 fits a specific slot in your workflow. You run it before you open a photo editor. It handles noise, demosaicing, and lens corrections at the pre-processing stage so you start editing a cleaned-up DNG rather than a raw sensor file.
Wedding and event photographers who shoot thousands of frames per job get the most out of the batch parallelization. It processes multiple files at once rather than queuing them in series. Landscape photographers with long exposure series or focus stacks also save time by running a full folder through it before they assemble composites.
Street, travel, and documentary shooters who rely on Fujifilm X-Trans cameras benefit from DeepPRIME XD3 because X-Trans has a different color filter array than Bayer. The engine sees both sensor types directly without a separate camera-specific module.
If you hand off DNGs to a team that works across different editors (Capture One, Lightroom, Affinity), the high-fidelity DNG compression option keeps file sizes smaller while preserving metadata and corrections in a format every major app can open.
M1 or AMD GPU Required
The requirements are straightforward. You need an Apple M1 chip or an Intel Mac with an AMD Radeon Pro RX5700 GPU. The 8 GB of RAM is a hard minimum — that covers the OS plus the app and a few open files. The installer uses 6 GB of disk space during setup and keeps about that much occupied afterward.
Both ARM and x86 builds are included in the disk image. On an M1 or M2 Mac you run the ARM version natively. On an Intel Mac you use the 64-bit x86 build. The display must be at least 1280 x 768. That is the smallest resolution the interface is designed for.
The installer is one step: mount the downloaded .dmg file, then run the standard setup prompt. No command line, no dependencies to install separately.
Wide Gamut as Default Color Space
DxO Wide Gamut as the working color space means you do not have to pick a color profile before you start processing. The app converts everything to that space internally, so your preview and your DNG export match without a manual color space step.
The AI dust spot removal works on the RAW data itself, not on a rendered preview. That means you catch sensor dust before it affects your edit layer. You can process a batch and have dust removed from every file consistently without brushing each one individually.
High-fidelity DNG compression is not a lossy medium — it keeps the full bit depth and color information while reducing the file footprint. That is useful if you store large archives or upload DNGs to a cloud service with storage limits.
