...and that's where the furniture editor comes in. You grab a chair from the catalog, then tweak its size, orientation, height, color, and texture right there. No need to redraw a thing. The 3D view updates instantly, so you can check the room from an aerial view or drop to a visitor's eye level to see if that sofa really fits.
Sweet Home 3D 7.5.7 is an interior design app that handles the whole flow: draw walls, drop in doors and windows, furnish, then view or print the plan and 3D scene. It can even generate photorealistic images with adjustable light and sun positions.

macOS 10.9 or Later, 20 Languages

- Current version 7.5.7 fixes sync in the separate 3D window and underground level rendering
First-run settings worth changing
A few defaults are worth adjusting early. The app's Preferences panel lets you set the measurement system to imperial or metric, which saves you converting dimensions later. Change the default catalog view to list mode if you prefer scanning names instead of thumbnails. If you work on multi-level houses, enable the separate 3D view window — version 7.5.7 fixed the sync on that window, so top and underground levels stay correct. You can also set the sun position dial to your actual latitude for more realistic daylight previews.
Opens Fast Enough to Sketch a Room
Sweet Home 3D runs on anything that boots OS X 10.9 or later. That covers both Intel Macs from the Haswell era and all Apple Silicon models. The app itself is lightweight: it opens fast enough to sketch a room during a lunch break. The 3D view uses your GPU when available, but it falls back to software rendering if the hardware is older — no crash, just slower orbit rotation. The furniture catalog with over 1,400 objects loads on demand, so the first time you open the kitchen section it takes a second longer. After that, it stays cached for the session.
Homeowners Planning a Remodel or DIY Furniture Builders
- Homeowners planning a remodel. Draw existing walls, then experiment with moving a kitchen island or enlarging a bathroom before you call a contractor.
- DIY furniture builders. Import your own 3D model of that shelf you designed, place it in the virtual room, and check clearance against the existing door swing.
- Renters visualizing changes. Try paint colors, curtain textures, and furniture arrangements without buying anything — the catalog covers most IKEA-level items.
- Architectural hobbyists. The multi-level support and photorealistic rendering with adjustable sun position give you a solid sandbox for experimenting with floor plans and natural light.
- Fixed synchronization issues in the separate 3D view window
- Fixed 3D view rendering of underground levels at the same elevation
- Fixed font display in the Thai interface
- macOS 10.9 or later
- Intel or Apple Silicon
