EZmix 3.2.2 is a single plugin that covers mixing, mastering, and guitar amp duties. Drop it on a sequencer channel strip, pick a preset, and the audio gets processed immediately. It also runs as a standalone host for guitar practice, with built-in amp and cabinet simulations.
Quick Track and Bus Presets
- Quick track processing: insert on drums, vocals, or bass and cycle through presets.
- Bus work: glue a group of tracks with a single effect chain.
- Mastering: apply presets built around mastering effects and new reverb algorithms.
- Guitar and bass: use amp and cabinet simulations without a separate amp plugin.
Requires EZmix 3.2.2 for New Packs
- EZmix packs released from Q4 2025 onward require version 3.2.2.
- The interface was redesigned in EZmix 2, so the current look is cleaner than earlier versions.
- It works on macOS 10.13 or later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Single-Window Preset Browser with Tags
EZmix bundles everything in one window. You do not jump between separate plugin instances for amp, reverb, and compression. That single insert keeps the session tidy. The preset browser uses category tags, so you can narrow choices to, say, "vocals" or "clean guitar" without scrolling the full list.
Because the host mode is independent of a DAW, you can open it for quick practice or tone audition. It loads its own amp and cabinet section, and you can plug in and play without launching Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or Ableton Live. This works well if you only need to check a sound or run scales.
Preset-Driven Mixing vs. CLA MixHub
EZmix sits somewhere between a mixing assistant and a multi-effects strip. Compared with Waves CLA MixHub, EZmix is more preset-driven. CLA MixHub gives you a full console strip with channel and bus modes, but you build the chain yourself. EZmix gives you the chain already built and lets you swap presets to hear different approaches fast.
Against iZotope Neutron, EZmix is simpler. Neutron has an assistant that analyzes your track and suggests settings; EZmix does not analyze or learn. It relies on the engineer who designed the preset. That can be faster if you trust the preset, slower if you need to tune every parameter manually. Neutron also uses a heavy CPU footprint on older machines; EZmix runs lighter on the same hardware.
Next to Overloud TH-U for guitar, EZmix covers less ground on the amp side. TH-U is a dedicated amp sim with deep cab IRs and pedal chains. EZmix does amp and cab as part of its overall bundle, not as the main focus. If you want to dial in a specific amp head with a specific mic position, TH-U is the tool. If you want a quick "good enough" guitar sound while you work on the mix, EZmix saves the extra plugin slot.
- Support for EZmix packs released from Q4 2025 onward requires version 3.2.2.
- macOS 10.13 or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel
